Description:

Framing Ennis is a 90-minute guided photography walk led by photographer Gary Collins, inviting participants to discover the architectural, cultural, and historical character of Ennis through photography. Suitable for all experience levels, the walk begins in daylight and continues into dusk, allowing participants to capture the town as it transforms with the changing evening light. Starting in O’Connell Square, the route takes in Abbey Street, Ennis Friary, the River Fergus, Parnell Street laneways, the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul, and other accessible streets and public spaces that showcase the town’s rich heritage. Throughout the walk, Gary will share practical photography techniques, including composition, storytelling, working with natural light, and photographing architecture and urban environments. Participants are encouraged to use either a camera or smartphone to create their own visual interpretation of Ennis. The event celebrates Ennis’ by encouraging participants to slow down, observe, and appreciate the stories found within its streets, buildings, and public spaces.
