Join us in Ballywaltrim Library and experience the wonders of wool with Wicklow-based crafters and artists. The library will exhibit samples of felting, weaving and wool, and people will have the opportunity to interact with the samples and crafts, including trying out different types of felting. A spinner will be set up in the library and she will talk to people about the craft of spinning as she spins. Across the evening, the crafters and artists will share information about wool and traditional crafting. From a folklore perspective, we will have the short Wicklow Sheep Stories questionnaire for people to complete if they would like to. The purpose of the Wicklow Sheep Stories project is to record the community knowledge of sheep in Co. Wicklow and to bring awareness to past traditions and into the future.
