Wall Dances

Beautifully mesmerising dance solos, performed by artists from Echo Echo, projected upon the City Walls at Hangman's Bastion – a project by Barry Davis and Echo Echo Dance Theatre Company.

For one night only The Walls will come to life, enchanted by figures moving, gliding and dancing across the stone!

5 solo dances by professional dancers from Echo Echo will be recorded and projected onto The Walls. These dances will have no audio, with the focus being solely on the dancer and the movement. Usually when we watch someone dance they are accompanied by music or sound of some sort. When this is removed, we remove the context for the dance and begin to watch the movement in other ways. We see the poetry in movement and the individual’s creativity without the stimulus of rhythm or mood.
