Ben’s upcoming project with Take A Part Carlow:

Pride in Our Place Street Art Project
Visual artist Ben Custerson will engage with young graffiti artists and skate borders that use Carlow town skate park to learn about the required processes such as design, planning, colour theory, review and execution of street art thus giving a better understanding of the artform. The young artists will work with Ben to take over the skate park and engage the community in a creative project that will translate ideas and feelings about the area into a visual representation.  The aim of this project is to give young people the confidence to express ideas, break them down and represent them visually. They will be able to learn something very tangible about street art and painting and give a sense of pride of where they are from, as they can add a narrative and art to their own symbol of pride within the community.
