Uillinn West Cork Arts Centre opens its doors in the evening for Culture Night welcoming visitors to a tour of latest exhibition, experience an immersive audio visual and sound installation and enjoy live music in the courtyard, with a craft beer reception.

Gallery Tour of The Past Is A Foreign Country, by Anita Groener. An exhibition which addresses one of the most pressing issues of our time–the refugee crises–and our response to it. What is it to be human today? Through drawings, large scale installations, film, and animations Anita Groener explores the substance of trauma and loss rooted in this question
THREADS, an immersive film art installation

A mythic nocturnal Journey along the River Ilen to the sea, recalling folkloric traditions, from a time when pishogues and tradition ruled the hearts and minds of country people.
Live music from composer and violinist Justin Grounds and artist and cellist Tess Leak in the courtyard with The Coffee Shop (serving pizza). Playing music from diverse range of community projects including pieces from their Barefoot Baroque tour and a poem by Arts for Health participants called Reading the Sky. Arts for Health composer and violinist Justin Grounds has collaborated with Arts for Health artist and cellist Tess Leak on a wide variety of projects since The Vespertine Quintet, of which they are both members, was founded in 2014. Collaborations include Reading in Public Places with poet Joe Horgan and Up to the Elbow with choreographer Helga Deasy. As part of the West Cork Arts for Health Programme, they recently worked together on the cross art-form performance Stories from the Well-Field with a group of residents in Bantry General Hospital and puppeteer Eoin Lynch.

Uillinn: West Cork Arts Centre is a hub of arts activity right in the heart of Skibbereen. Its two main galleries house contemporary art exhibitions that intrigue and inspire, presenting artwork by local, national and international artists and a programme of free guided tours, artists talks and resources such as the Discovery Box for families and children exhibition guides. The three Artist Studios and Dance Studio provide space for Irish and international artists to work on site and to create new work and meet the public.
