“Join the Ligoniel Improvement Association for a vibrant, two-part celebration of heritage, nature, and community in the heart of North Belfast. Running from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM, “”Trails and Tales at Ligoniel”” offers an escape into local history and a welcoming space to connect.

The evening begins at 4:00 PM making the most of the late afternoon light with a guided walk around the beautiful, historic Ligoniel Dams. Led by knowledgeable local guides, this accessible outdoor trail will immerse visitors in the rich Celtic folklore and environmental heritage of the area. It is a brilliant opportunity for families and visitors to experience the natural landscape right on the city’s doorstep.

At 5:30 PM, as the autumn evening draws in, the event moves indoors to the warmth of the fully accessible Wolfhill Centre. The second half of the night operates on a relaxed, drop-in basis until 9:00 PM. Visitors will be welcomed with hot food prepared in our community kitchen and treated to an evening of traditional live music and cultural celebration.

Whether you are walking the trails from the very start or simply hopping off the bus at our front door later in the evening for some tunes and a warm meal, this is a completely free, family-friendly event designed to bring people together and showcase the very best of Ligoniel.”
