Tile-Making at St. Brigid’s – Signs and Symbols

St. Brigid's Cathedral
16:30 - 18:00
Booking required
All Ages

Description:

Come to Saint Brigid's Cathedral and imagine what it would have been like in 12th century to literally bake tiles with locally-sourced materials. We have a selection of these original tiles on display. The current floor dates back to the 1800s and has been created using the original floor as inspiration.

In this workshop, participants will explore some of the symbols within and around the building. Using a worksheet you can create your very own tile using air-dry clay. This can be something that you can frame at home, perhaps use as a coaster and as a constant reminder of your time in the cathedral.
