The event celebrates Traveller cultural heritage through craft, storytelling, design, and community-led creative practice.

The public are invited into Shuttleknit’s working creative space for an afternoon of live demonstrations, informal talks, exhibitions, and hands-on participation led by Traveller women makers. Activities will include knitting and textile demonstrations, storytelling, heritage displays, workshops, and a showcase of culturally informed knitwear and homeware collections developed through Shuttleknit’s social enterprise model.

The event explores heritage as a living and evolving practice carried through memory, oral tradition, creativity, and intergenerational knowledge-sharing.

Visitors will have opportunities to engage directly with makers, contribute to a collaborative textile or storytelling artwork, and learn about Traveller identity and indigenous cultural expression through accessible cultural experiences.
