Description:
‘This is my Culture’ is a multicultural celebration of artmaking hosted by members of Clonmel Arts Studios Group (C.A.S.G.) at Hughs Mill on Suir Island, Clonmel.
Culture is generally defined as a set of shared attitudes, values, goals, and practices that define a group of people. Culture includes the elements that characterise a particular peoples' way of life. The arts is a vast subdivision of culture and therefore it is important to ask does the arts celebrate my culture? With this in mind members of C.A.S.G. are having a creative call out around the broad theme of ‘my culture’ open to residents and friends of Hughes Mill. On Culture Night residents + locals are invited to bring their ideas to the front entrance and foyer area of their studio in where further artmaking and display is facilitated by studio artists: Ian Mannion, Carol Murphy, Kate Somerville and Brigid Teehan.
