The Wall of Wonder is a collaborative community art project that celebrates intergenerational creativity, imagination and environmental awareness through the transformation of discarded materials into a beautiful public artwork.

Using hundreds of recycled clear cupcake containers donated by local businesses, every participant will create their own miniature artwork inside a transparent display box, filling their container with reclaimed and natural materials such as bottle tops, fabric scraps, buttons, paper, leaves, feathers, shells and other rescued objects, creating a unique “cabinet of curiosity” that reflects their personality, interests and imagination.

Each individual artwork becomes one small piece of a much larger installation. As the containers are assembled together, they form a vibrant and ever-growing Wall of Wonder, demonstrating how many individual contributions can come together to create something extraordinary.

Unlike a traditional exhibition, the installation will remain on permanent display and will continue to grow over time as more children contribute, allowing families to revisit and locate their own child’s artwork for years to come.

On Culture Night, this project will encourage children, parents and grandparents to view everyday waste materials as valuable creative resources while promoting sustainability, creativity, confidence and community pride.
