In the book of Invasions, the Mythological Cycle depicts some of Ireland’s oldest and
forgotten stories that were originally passed through multiple generations by
storytelling. Within this cycle we hear of some of Ireland’s earliest ancestors.
The Story of first battle of Cath Maige Tuireadh, depicts the tale of the Firbolg and the
first comings of the Tuatha Dé Danann and the fight for Ireland and the plains of
Cong Co. Mayo.
The fundamentals of this story depicts the struggle and hardship of mass migration,
war and the hopes for a new beginning.
In the spirit of the storytelling of old, this tale is told by Janie Kavanagh and brought
to life by John Bermingham.
