Welcome to “The Ocean Beacon” workshop at Miltown Malbay Library!

This interactive event uses the beautiful Atlantic sunset as its main inspiration. A cosy art station with safe, battery-operated LED tea-lights and glass holders will be set up for participants to create their own glowing artwork.

With step-by-step guidance, participants will paint their own interpretation of the ocean waves and coastal twilight using quick-drying acrylic glass markers. This is a very accessible technique, so no previous art experience is required. Once complete, an LED tea-light will be placed inside the decorated glass, transforming it into a glowing mini-beacon.

Participants will have the opportunity to add their finished piece to a collective light display in the library before taking it home as a special handmade souvenir.

The workshop runs from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with three sessions taking place at approximately 4:00 PM, 5:00 PM, and 6:00 PM. The first session is particularly suitable for younger children and families.

The event follows a flexible drop-in format, so anyone passing by is welcome to join if a seat is available. Booking online is strongly recommended to secure a place, but visitors are encouraged to drop in and check for availability.
