In Nine, two women are being held in a life-threatening situation. Locked in a room and chained apart, their only currency is words, and balance of power is everything. A single word takes on immense significance, even the difference between life and death. Nine was originally produced at the Circle Rep Lab in New York City in March, 1995. Libby Trappe plays Women 1 and Amanda Ryan plays Woman 2 under the direction of Conor O’Connell.
Conor, who is a former All-Ireland Drama best actor, takes on the role of director for the first time. Patrons should be aware that the play contains strong language.
