This exhibition focuses on the shirt factory heritage of the North West.
The history of shirt factories across our region is well known and recent activities such as the sounding of the Shirt Factory Horn during early lockdown, the murals in the Craft Village and the development of a permanent sculpture to mark those that have worked in the factories, has shown the desire to celebrate this important part of our society.
The project was developed in partnership with the Tower Museum and moved to the Fashion & Textile Design Centre in September 2021.
