The Disappearing is an installation of sculptures in and along the river in Gort by artists Bríd Kivneen and Diana Rogerson with music from Eugene Lambe.

The sculptures are designed to disappear in time, celebrating the river and biodiversity in Gort. We will be using mixed media, materials like clay, straw, nettles, reeds, wool, bones, sticks and found objects to create a story of installations along and in the river. Including a local professional piper / instrument maker who will play Irish traditional music on the bridge which spans the river. He will be playing music to the launch of a sculpture (bio degradable) piece into the river to celebrate the movement of the water. The start of the walk will be welcoming people with a violin player and a person dressed as a rabbit, to remind us that we are in wonderland. This will take place in twilight and finish with a celebration of food and drink with leaflets to document the sculptural pieces.
