The Common Tune with the Ceoltóirí Bianconi Collective, Culture Night Special Event is a community music project Ag Ceiliúradh Bhanlaochra Pheil Cheatharlach , celebrating the football heroines of Carlow through music and providing a participatory musical experience.

The Ceoltóirí Bianconi Collective have commissioned Leitrim singer/songwriter Michael McKenna to create a new song celebrating the remarkable achievements of the Carlow women’s football team. The song will be played as part of Culture Night alongside a some of the more common traditional tunes and folk songs, designed to encourage participation, connection and shared enjoyment.

At the heart of this event is the collective’s warm welcome — bringing people together across generations and backgrounds in a spirit of creativity, community and celebration.

This project builds on previous successful community collaborations by the collective, including the recording, teaching and public performance of Michael McKenna’s Carlow of My Dreams’ a song that resonated strongly with Carlow audiences at home and abroad and demonstrated the power of music to foster local pride, belonging and cultural connection.
