Description:

For Culture Night 2023 VISUAL Carlow along with a host of artists will create an evening of music, cabaret, performance and dance. We want to bring people together in the spirit of joy and fun.

We begin the night with a largescale choral event gathering 100s to learn a popular song in various parts.
Once practised, everyone will come together for a special recording of the final performance which will be shared across our digital channels. THE BIG SING will be led by conductor Mary Amond O’Brien and is the first event of a new initiative led by VISUAL which sees the launches of The VISUAL Choir. As people leave after THE BIG SING! others will arrive for a night of cabaret, performance and dance and so, The PING PONG DISCO will begin!
PING PONG DISCO, Club! Art Space! Dance-Floor!
Push your wild instincts and demented desire in our joyously outrageous, flashy, trashy, paradise! This DIY collective of creatives, artists and queerdo's, blends the concepts of clubbing and performance set in the beautiful surroundings of VISUAL’s gallery spaces. There will be performances and dance routines from the Ping Pong Girls plus special guests. Guest DJ's will bring the audience on a magic carpet ride through Nu Cosmic Disco, 80's italo house, dark bubbling electronic synths and just the right amount of high energy!
Throw your heels in the air, paint your face and ditch your preconceived ideas, this will be a club/cabaret
night for all.
PING PONG DISCO is produced by Carlow native and artist in residence at VISUAL, Cian Kinsella.
Through music, cabaret and dance Culture Night Late in Carlow will be a vibrant, diverse and inclusive
event for all!
Funded by the Arts Council Culture Night Late.
