Slideshow, talk and show and tell of interesting textiles for lovers of history, craft and heritage with Vawn Corrigan.
Vawn Corrigan is a Dublin-based author with a passion for textiles. Her writing on textiles has been published extensively including two books, Irish Aran
(2019) and Irish Tweed (2020).
Creating textiles has always been at the heart of Irish culture. The wool trade and weaving go back to ancient times, and lacemaking and the Aran knit once threw a lifeline to rural communities. Today, artisan textiles continue through the generations in an unbroken thread. Our wonderful crafts continue to inspire and give depth to our lives.
Headford Lace Project are delighted to host Vawn who, through the medium of a slide show, will take you on a journey through our textile roots. All are welcome to this entertaining event exploring Ireland’s heritage.
Do you have a vintage or heirloom piece? Bring it along for the show and tell.
