Description:
SUBTERRA: What’s Lost & What’s Left is a deep-listening experience created and produced
under the banner of saltstate. Attendees are invited to enter into a dedicated deep listening
environment, to be still and to immerse themselves into a gentle sensory deprivation, where
they will listen to experimental, electronic music performed by an Irish-based artist.
For Culture Night 2026, we are coming to SOLAS Visitor Centre, Aghleam Co. Mayo. We
have drawn inspiration from local history; of the lighthouse that was lost to the Atlantic, and
the four towers that remain to this day, a story that prompted us to reflect upon “What’s Lost
& What’s Left”.
Performing artists are invited to step away from high-energy dancefloor sets and explore
atmospheric, hypnotic, and experimental selections rarely heard in standard venues. The
lineup features live electronic artist and producer, Dashamlav and Dublin-based DJ, SAZ.
The event is structured into two distinct sessions to cater to different listening dynamics:
● Session 1: 4PM-7PM (All Ages Suitable): Soundtracked by Dashamlav, offering an
accessible, ambient-leaning soundscape suitable for all ages.
Born in India and based in Ireland, Dashamlav is a live electronic artist and producer
shaping intimate, atmospheric sets influenced by displacement, memory, and the
search for home.
● Session 2: 7PM-10PM (Older Audiences): Soundtracked by SAZ, drawing deeper
elements from club culture with a louder, darker sound profile, best suited to older
participants.
SAZ is a Dublin-based DJ and radio host with a deep-rooted love for the Irish dance
scene and a passion for championing local talent. Her sets move fluidly across
electronic music, from groovy and playful to darker, harder and more hypnotic,
always guided by the energy of the room.
**Please ensure to choose the correct session to suit your needs.
Both sessions operate under a shared agreement of audience silence, turning the focus
entirely to sound. Listeners are invited to sit back, feel the physical frequencies, and
submerge in the experience of listening to electronic music outside of a crowded club
setting. Each performance is followed by a social reception.
At its core, SUBTERRA champions the vital importance of communal gathering; by
committing to a shared silence, the audience actively shapes the environment, collectively
enhancing the deep listening experience for both themselves and everyone around them.
This event is supported by funding from Mayo County Council for Culture Night 2026.
