Description:

Discover the story of one of the most influential figures in Tibetan Buddhism in this storytelling session at the Dublin Buddhist Centre.

‘The Life and Liberation of Padmasambhava’ is a glittering, multi-faceted jewel of world literature, an epic poem that offers a vivid introduction to the history, mythology, and rich, evocative culture of Tibet. The eponymous Padmasambhava, a historical figure who travelled from India in the 8th century, is revered in Tibet as a second Buddha and is celebrated for his role in establishing and spreading Buddhism across the region over the past 1200 years.

In this storytelling session, Vidyasakhi will introduce audiences to Padmasambhava at the moment he begins a forty-year journey of training on the path to becoming a Bodhisattva—an enlightened being dedicated to the liberation of all others. The story culminates in his extraordinary encounter with Princess Mandarava, his companion and a woman renowned for her courage, wisdom, and determination.
