Melanie O’Reilly’s Celtic Jazz Ensemble with Scott Flanigan – Piano, Adrian Jackson – Bass, Kevin Lawlor -Drums
Singer and songwriter Melanie O’Reilly, based in Wexford, is an internationally acclaimed performer in the area of Celtic fusion and jazz. For Culture Night, Melanie and her Celtic Jazz Ensemble will be taking to the St Michael’s Theatre stage for an evening that promises to bring an exhilarating and unique blend of Irish traditional music and jazz.
Melanie sings in both Gaelic and English, and her original songs are often inspired by Gaelic poetry, Irish myths and the works of literary giants such as James Joyce and Nuala Ni Dhomhnaill. Melanie has toured extensively throughout Ireland, Scotland, France and other parts of Europe as well as the United States.
She is also the creator, host and co-producer of the award-winning series “Jazz on the Bay”, broadcast on RTE Radio 1. Melanie performed with guitarist David Creevy at the launch of the inaugural 2018 Eugene O’Neill International Festival of Theatre Festival in New Ross and is delighted to be back performing in New Ross.
St. Michael’s Theatre is a community based Arts Centre serving the New Ross district and surrounding areas and has full facilities for the disabled including increased seating capacity for wheelchair users. Disabled parking is located at the rear of the building and access to the Theatre is from the car park.
Please note that this event will take place within the government guidelines for reopening of venues. There is a 60% limit on attendance and only customers with a valid Covid Passport will be admitted
