At 7pm, visiting organist Peter Barley, will treat us to a 30 minutes recital on the cathedral organ, showcasing a variety of sounds and styles of music for our entertainment. The organ, which was a present to the cathedral from the 3rd Earl Dunraven of Adare, Edwin Richard Wyndham-Quin, has 49 stops (sounds), three keyboards and a pedalboard. It was built by the esteemed British organ building company of William Hill & Son at a cost in excess of £1,000 and was inaugurated in 1864. It has served the liturgy continuously since then.
