Description:

18:15-19:30 Swift Conservation Talk
A talk on Swift Conservation presented by Kieran Dwane from BirdWatch Cork Branch in St Anthonys Boys National
School in Ballinlough. Swifts in Ireland are in decline and are on the red list of conservation concern. These birds are site-faithful, returning to the same nest site for the rest of their lives. The time spent here is extremely important to the future of the swift as they come here to breed. This talk will present ways we can help the Swift and provide long term nesting sites for the recovery of their population.

19:30-20:15 Art Workshop
An Art workshop to create Swifts. Participants will be invited to create their own swifts with stencils and experiment with layering and color, facilitated by Ann Lambe. A mural for ‘Swift Conservation’ is in progress and will appear very soon!

Come along to learn how we can protect our Swifts and paint one of your own!
