This Culture Night, Sol Art Gallery invites visitors to meet artist Kevin McNamara for a talk and live painting demonstration exploring the art of self-portraiture. 

Kevin will discuss his approach to painting and demonstrate how he begins a portrait, sharing the key influences, techniques, and ideas that inform his work. Kevin reflects, “These paintings are essential and useful to me as an artist as well as an opportunity for me to examine and scrutinise my ongoing pursuit of colour.”

This exciting Culture Night event offers a unique opportunity to gain insight into the artist’s creative process, revealing a preview of Kevin McNamara’s forthcoming solo exhibition, which opens at the gallery on 1 October.
