An experimental dramatic and acoustic piece, written and performed by Mary McGrath and Joe Whelan. Music by Neill Bourke and Kate McDonald. Directed by Maria Clancy, produced by the Tudor Artisan Hub. This is a brand new, two hander play with musical interludes, 50 minutes in length which has a nostalgic link to the 80s. The writers have created this piece inspired by the part that music has played in their lives as teenagers and tells the story of two people who find themselves at a turning point in mid-life, stumble upon each other again. Should the past be left behind or is it like an old favourite song that you can return to again? This is a unique collaboration with community-based creatives. Following the performance, there will be a Q&A with the Team, giving those attending the opportunity to benefit from lessons learned in the making of ‘Slow Dancing’. This event will take place at the Nano Nagle community resource centre, Greenside South, Carrick-on-Suir, E32 P928.
