Come along to the Mullingar Arts Centre on the 23rd September between 7.30pm and 8.45pm to a showcase of performance pieces from groups working out of the Centre. Together we will celebrate song, dance, drama, and music. Featuring members of our youth theatre, stage schools, gospel choir, dance schools and our resident group for children and adults with additional needs. It is a great opportunity to discover everything Performing Arts that we have on offer for children, young people and adults in Mullingar and the surrounding areas.
Mullingar Gospel Choir will have you tapping your toes and singing along as a lovely warmup to Culture Night in the Arts Centre. Join them at the front steps of the centre (weather permitting) at 7.30pm for a singalong session.
Across the Boards – resident group for children and young people with additional needs presents ‘Acts and Awards’ a piece incorporating mime to music, song, dance and drama.
There will also be a public showing of Orla and The GoFaster Stick, a film that brings to life the book written by local author Orla Keating.
Mullingar Youth Theatre will present a snippet of ‘It’s All in Your Head,’ a comedy set in the prefrontal cortex of Drew Peterson, a high school boy. Emotion runs wild, Focus can’t focus, and Planning is losing her mind. Together, the feelings of Drew must team up to accomplish their most difficult task: successfully asking a girl out on a date.
