Steeped in Waterford folklore, this play tells the story of a woman who was said to have the strength of five men and to have drank during church times. Her spirit is said to still appear to men who are travelling roads. This play explores what turns a woman to a legend, what makes her commit acts of hell and who was she before legend set her in history.

Martina Collender is a Playwright, Director, Stage Manager, Drama and Creative Writing tutor, Poet and Spoken Word artist. She has been commissioned to write for Loose Screw Theatre Company, Red Kettle Theatre Company, RigOut Productions, Comeragh Wilds Festival, Imagine Arts Festival, Waterford Youth Arts, Theatre Royal and Garter Lane Arts Centre. She has been published in The Waxed Lemon and The Lonely Voice run by the Irish Writer’s Centre. Two of her plays Crotty The Highway Man and Pettiecoat Loose have been published.
