Strange Brew is a Galway based record label releasing some of the most interesting music from some of the country’s most exciting artists. This culture night, they present an intimate show from two of their acts. Galway native Anna Mullarkey is a multi instrumentalist composer, performer and producer. Specializing in piano, synth and vocals. Her compositions vary in style from folk, jazz to electronica, her new solo electronic project weaving her voice with analogue synthesisers to create atmospheric electronica.
Paddy Hanna’s second album, 2018’s Frankly, I Mutate was hailed by critics as “essential’ (Uproxx), “Superb” (The Quietus) and “As Brilliantly distinctive as they come” (Sunday Business Post). He also received considerable coverage in Stereogum, with Journalist Ryan Leas hailing him as an unsung hero of the Irish music scene. He recently opened for Burt Bacharach’s Irish tour, and was invited to perform Raindrops with Burt for the encore at the Galway International Arts Festival Big Top. Think Jarvis Cocker meets Scott Walker, and you’ll scratch the surface.
