Forge Artists Aoife Natsumi Frehan and Emma O’ Toole will deliver two Pumpkins and Prosecco workshops. The workshops will be a fun and inclusive introduction to ceramics.
This is the ideal experience for anyone who would like to get a taster experience of clay, without the pressure to ‘create the perfect recognisable form’
Emma and Aoife have already prepared and pre-made some cute, little clay pumpkins. The participants will get to decorate, paint and design however they wish, using underglaze.
Emma and Aoife will be there to demonstrate and guide participants on how to use underglaze materials this is special brush-on paints that are suitable for the kiln (ceramic oven) as well as an easy and fun material to use.
We will then fire or “cook” the decorated pumpkins in the forge clay studios kiln shortly after the workshop and the pumpkins will be ready to collect approximately two weeks after the initial workshop.
“We invite you to join us in the forge clay studios on Saturday the 23rd of September for Culture Night 2022 where you will get a chance to experience what it feels like to create in a shared artists studio space and hopefully satiate curiosity.”
The Adult workshops will be held in the Forge Clay Studios, 42 New Road, Galway. These workshops will be directed at adults. The first workshop will run from 6-7.30 and the second Workshop will run from 8-9.30 pm
There is limited space in the studio, we ask that participants please book in advance to secure a space in the workshop. You can book for free through Eventbrite.
