Description:
Celebrate 35 years of the Dublin Buddhist Centre by contributing to a collaborative prayer flag inspired by a long-standing Himalayan tradition.
Prayer flags are colourful cloth rectangles traditionally strung along mountain ridges, peaks, and temples in the Himalayas. Inscribed with sacred mantras and symbols, they are used by Buddhists to promote peace, compassion, strength, and wisdom. As the wind blows, it is believed to spread goodwill and positive energy into the surrounding space.
Visitors are invited to create a panel for a prayer flag to mark this special anniversary of the Dublin Buddhist Centre. A brief introduction to the tradition will be shared before participants are invited to contribute their own design, reflection, or aspiration.
Materials will be provided and no artistic experience is needed—just curiosity and a willingness to take part. Spaces are limited and offered on a first come first served basis.
