Ports of Call is a solo live performance by Luigi Cirillo, Belfast-based composer and multi-instrumentalist behind the Fusionarium project.
The set takes the form of a musical journey through the cities and cultures that have shaped Cirillo’s work: Naples, Belfast, and beyond. Each song is introduced through the story of a physical object: an instrument found, borrowed or gifted along the way. A Neapolitan mandolin passed on by a Belfast folk musician. A guitar that crossed the Mediterranean. A clarinet that found its way into music it was never meant for.
Using voice, guitars, clarinet, looper and live electronics, Cirillo layers acoustic folk traditions with contemporary sound in real time; building each piece from silence, live on stage, with no backing track and no band. The result is intimate, unhurried, and unlike a standard concert set.
Ports of Call is created specifically for Culture Night Belfast 2026 and reflects the spirit of a city that has always been a place of arrival, departure and exchange.
