Building on the ancient Irish tradition of telling a great story, podcasters in Galway are providing a platform for diverse voices and histories. For Culture Night, Galway City Library will host a panel featuring hosts from three ground-breaking Galway podcasts. The hosts will chat about a range of subjects including:
• podcasting as a new medium for getting voices and stories out;
• how to set up a podcast;
• how to reach an audience.
The three podcasts to be featured on the panel are:
1. The Celtic Tales Chronicles
2. The Shnug Podcast
3. The Promenade Podcast
"The Celtic Tales Chronicles" - Hosted by Kerry Graham and Rab Fulton, this offshoot of the world-famous Celtic Tales storytelling show takes a deep dive into all the weird, wild and wonderful stories that can be found along Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Coastline.
"The Shnug Podcast" - hosted by Richard Loftus & Lavin. This is a podcast from the west coast of Ireland, where interesting people from all walks of life are invited to chat with the hosts about their lives.
"The Promenade Podcast" - created by Andy Gaffney, featuring diverse voices discussing memories and reflections. Winner of awards in Ireland, UK and New York. Andy Gaffney featured in The Irish Times: 50 people to watch in 2023.
