PlayActing Youth Theatre are launching their movie A Visit to Castletown House based on Michael Hartnett’s poem of the same title. It was published in 1975 and written after a visit to this Celbridge landmark. Culture night 2020 would have been the poet’s 79th birthday. The poem is both lyrical and visual and lends itself beautifully to being filmed.
‘A Visit to Castletown House’ by Michael Hartnett, from Selected and New Poems (1994), is used by kind permission of the Estate of Michael Hartnett and The Gallery Press.
