Description:

Trinity College Botanic Garden is delighted to open its gates for Culture Night 2026. Visitors are invited to join a ‘Plants and Planet’ tour of this special garden to discover amazing plants, how they evolved, and how they help our planet thrive.

Explore Trinity Botany’s unique and historic teaching and research botanic garden, where botanists will share stories of the fascinating lives of plants from around the world, how they have evolved and adapted to sometimes extreme environments, and what they can teach us about our planet and how to help protect it.

The tour will include:

  • Meet the ‘Witness Trees’ and learn how they absorb information about our changing climate through their leaves.
  • Discover how some plants can have their pollinators and eat them too!
  • Hear about amazing plants that have outlived the dinosaurs.
  • Learn about important plant-animal-environment research taking place at Trinity.

The garden will be open from 16:00, with two guided tours starting at 16:30 and 18:00. Visitors can also take a self-guided stroll using the garden guides.

Spaces are limited, so please book early to avoid disappointment.
