Planet Glasnevin

This collection of images by BoB Dixon representing the iconic Glasnevin Cemetery, with the tower of Daniel O’Connell as its centrepiece, will be on display in the beautiful Prospect Square. The four images, taken with a DJI Mavic Air drone, attempt to capture the resting place for 1.5 million people all with a story to tell. Some of these images have been shot in panoramic style, creating the impression that the 124-acre span is a “little planet.” With its late Victorian and Edwardian red and yellow brick facades, Prospect Square is adjacent to Kavanagh’s bar, commonly known as The Gravediggers, which served drinks to the men who dug the graves in the cemetery.
