South Georgian Quarter

Culture Night at the National Gallery

The National Gallery of Ireland

Enjoy the national collection alongside live art and performance. Take part in the headline event Painting Mirror, an interactive live digital art display that puts you in the frame of your own masterpiece on a grand scale as we project your portrait or landscape onto our historical façade in Merrion Square, presented in collaboration with the French Embassy in Ireland. Your photo will be mirrored in the style of Claude Monet, Mainie Jellett or Harry Clarke. Join a fascinating tour to learn more about the highlights of the collection or view, The Meeting on the Turret Stairs. Visit contemporary artist Hughie O’Donoghue’s huge artworks at Original Sins. Or pop in to the Print Gallery for a chance to see treasures from the Rijksmuseum by Rembrandt.

The Gallery will be open until 9pm on the night (last admission 8.30pm), and the Gallery Shop and Gallery Café will be open until 8.30pm. You’ll be able to watch Painting Mirror on our Merrion Square building from 8pm-11pm, and the 53.3 Degrees pop-up café in the Merrion Square forecourt will be open until 9.30pm serving snacks.
