The Glens Centre and Adaptation Film Weekend present an outdoor screening of Black Robe (1991). Adapted for screen by Irish novelist Brian Moore from his book, Black Robe is set in 1635 and tells the story of a Jesuit priest (played by Lothar Blutheau) journeying into the vast Canadian interior, in the company of the local Algonquin people, in search of his beleaguered missionary colleagues. Lelia Doolan will launch the film and the weekend long festival. The director of Black Robe, Bruce Beresford, will provide an introduction to the film.
