This visit to James Stephens Barracks will introduce the visitor to our Infantry ethos and our culture by observing a flag lowering ceremony , then visiting the barracks museum and other historical sites within our walled village.
We will then visit the officers mess for refreshments and a viewing of a short drama production Titled The Re burial of Jackie Brett . (1921 – An IRA Flying Column in South Kilkenny just suffered the loss of one of their members and fearing his freshly dug grave would lead the British Army to them, they removed the body from its resting place and secretly buried it again.)
Event commences at 7.00pm sharp . Please be at the Ballybough street entrance for 6.50pm
