To celebrate Culture Night 2026, IAC Archaeology is opening the doors of our Head Office in Kilcoole, Co. Wicklow, and we’d love to welcome families, archaeology enthusiasts and anyone interested in finding out more about Ireland’s archaeological heritage.

What happens to all those finds once an excavation is finished?

Come along and meet our team of experienced archaeologists and discover how we examine, record and analyse the fascinating evidence recovered from archaeological excavations. You’ll get an insight into the many different processes that help us piece together the story of the people who lived in the past.

From artefacts and environmental remains to human bones and other archaeological discoveries, find out how seemingly small pieces of evidence can reveal a wealth of information about Ireland’s past.

The IAC Archaeology offices will be open from 5pm–8pm, with short guided tours running throughout the evening. Tours will last approximately 25 minutes, with a maximum of 10 people per tour. Please arrive a few minutes before your booked tour time.
