National Archives, Bishop Street
17:00 - 21:00
No Booking Required

Description:

Marking the centenary of Ireland’s membership of the League of Nations on 10 September 1923, the National Archives in partnership with the Department of Foreign Affairs and the Royal Irish Academy has created an international exhibition ‘On an Equal Footing with All, Ireland at the League of Nations 1923–1946’ using records held in the National Archives and elsewhere relating to Ireland’s membership of the League. The League of Nations was the first global state-level political organisation created after the First World War and membership was a key part of independent Ireland’s first steps on the international stage. This exhibition explores the ambitions of the new Irish State as it asserted its independence in the 1920s and 1930s and forms the centrepiece of the National Archives’ 2023 Commemoration Programme. Drop in and visit the exhibition on Culture Night at the National Archives, Bishop Street.
