Ó Bhéal presents Chandrika Narayanan-Mohan and Shaunna Lee Lynch.

Chandrika Narayanan-Mohan is a Dublin-based arts manager and writer from India, who has also lived in North America, Sweden, Turkey, and the UK. She has been featured in The Moth and Mortified podcasts, with work aired on NPR and Irish radio. Chandrika was selected for the Irish Writers Centre XBorders programmes in 2018 and 2020. Her poetry is included in Writing Home: The ‘New Irish’ Poets from Dedalus Press and published in The Honest Ulsterman. She was recently appointed as guest editor of Trumpet, Poetry Ireland’s literary pamphlet.

Shaunna Lee Lynch is a Cork-native writer, actor, director, producer and the current reigning All-Ireland Poetry Slam Champion. As a spoken word artist she has performed at events around Ireland and abroad including Cork City Culture Night, Electric Picnic, LitFest (France), The Garden Party (Lisbon), Fire and Dust (Coventry). Her poetry was featured in the chapbook paper incantations in Ó Bhéal’s spoken worlds series. Her writing playfully weaves modern feminism and pop culture with politics, social commentary and tradition.

Ó Bhéal is no longer posting zoom links via its social media channels. To participate, please email a request to with a sentence outlining your interest, then a link to join the session will be emailed to you at 7.15pm on the evening of the event. The session is expected to run for between 2-3 hours.

The evening will feature three parts:
8.30pm: Five Word Challenge (max 30 – after the allotted 15 minutes writing time);
9.30pm: Featured Guest Poets (Chandrika Narayanan-Mohan and Shaunna Lee Lynch – 20 mins each);
10:20pm: Open-Mic Session for original poetry (max 30).
