Description:

Mali Hâf is a Welsh witch from Cardiff, bringing together the energy of the city with a deep philosophical connection to nature. Her music blends electronic and alternative beats with her folky Welsh roots and distinctive, gritty, sultry voice.

In 2025, Mali reached the Top 3 of the Glastonbury Emerging Talent Competition, performing on the BBC Introducing Stage in her mother tongue, Cymraeg.

More recently, she has been writing and performing with Irish-language artist James Shannon, creating a new Cymraeg and Gaeilge project that brings two Celtic languages together.

Menter Caerdydd and BÁC le Gaeilge have been working closely together over the past two years, sharing best practice and exploring new ways to strengthen the bonds between Irish and Welsh. At the heart of that collaboration is culture – and particularly music – as a powerful way of bringing our languages and communities together.

The inaugural project of Menter Caerdydd and BÁC le Gaeilge, featuring Mali Hâf and James Shannon, is the first step in what is hoped to become a growing programme of Irish-Welsh collaboration, showcased at festivals in both countries in the years ahead. This project came together thanks to funding from the Welsh Government Office in Dublin and the Consulate General of Ireland in Cardiff.

This event is part of a larger programme at North Earl Street for Culture Night Dublin. Filming and photography will be taking place at this location. By attending, visitors give permission to be photographed or filmed unless a member of the Culture Night team is explicitly notified otherwise.
