Internationally acclaimed Congolese guitarist and singer Niwel Tsumbu joins forces with Donegal percussionist Eamonn Cagney for a vibrant celebration of rhythm, melody and musical connection.

Drawing on Rumba, jazz, classical, rock, folk and African traditions, Tsumbu has created a distinctive sound that has captivated audiences around the world. He has performed and collaborated with artists including Sinéad O’Connor, Dónal Lunny, Michael O’Suilleabháin and Taj Mahal, and is currently a member of Rhiannon Giddens’ band and the Silkroad Ensemble.

The Tsumbu and Cagney Duo brings together more than a decade of musical collaboration, combining Congolese guitar, jazz, West African rhythms and Irish traditional music in an electrifying live performance.

For this special concert, they will be joined by Macdara Ó Faoláin, the acclaimed bouzouki player, fiddle player and singer from An Rinn, Co. Waterford, known for his innovative approach to traditional Irish music.
