Sara Baume – So Sick and Tired
At 11:00pm on Sunday 21st of June 2020, the eve of the summer solstice, the National Sculpture Factory launched its new public art commission, a textwork by artist and writer Sara Baume, ‘So Sick and Tired’. Commissioned by the National Sculpture Factory for Cork Midsummer Festival 2020 – Midsummer Moments, this piece reflects on the extraordinary times we presently inhabit.

This artwork/textwork hangs on the front facade of the National Sculpture Factory from 21 June through to the darkest day of the year Winter solstice, 21st December. The neon text will light earlier each night as we slip towards the depths of winter, illuminating our world for the remainder of the year.
