Musical Magic

For Culture Night 2023, St George's Heritage & Visitor Centre will host the instrumental group Ensemble 32, the Leitrim Male Choir, and the Millennium Choir. With a combined total of nearly forty years' musical and choral experience, there will be something for everyone in this feelgood night to remember!

Ensemble 32
Formed five years ago, Ensemble 32 is a local instrumental group comprised of silver flutes, piano, guitar and box, whose musical tastes range from French gypsy, folk, classical and popular tunes, often using the ensemble's own creative arrangements.

Leitrim Male Choir
The Leitrim Male Choir was formed in 2013, with its first performance a baptism of fire in many ways as it was the closing act on RTÉ Nationwide when it recorded in Carrick-on-Shannon. The LMC have performed twice for the Rose of Tralee contestants visiting Leitrim and in numerous fundraising events, including the Concert for Ukraine. Ten years on, the LMC is as strong as ever and continues to share its talent with enthusiastic audiences.

Millennium Choir
Formed in 2000 to celebrate the Millennium, this choir comprises of singers from Longford, Mohill and Carrick. Still going strong, the Millennium Choir will celebrate its 25th Anniversary in 2025. Based in Carrick-on-Shannon, the choir's music ranges from sacred and operatic to Broadway and West End, from Irish trad to popular cinema and television soundtracks. Having performed in many venues abroad, the Millennium Choir performs regularly for its own concerts and for charity and fundraising purposes.
