Description:

Come build a Mummer’s Hat at Sigginstown Castle! Join a fun and creative workshop with Street Artist Caoimhe Dunn to make your own straw hat as might have been used in the past by Mummers, Wren Boys and Masquers in Ireland and across Europe. The ancient tradition of Mumming still exists, and Sigginstown Castle regularly hosts a Mumming performance of the folk-play. The Wexford Mummers wear different hats now but may have originated in these straw varieties. Creative possibilities abound.

Join us for two hours of creative collaboration in the historical and beautiful setting of Sigginstown Castle.
The event will be inside the Coach House.

This workshop is designed for adults. Young people aged 13 and over are welcome to attend when accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Booking required.
