MTU – Blackrock Castle Observatory: Demonstration, Workshops, and Tour

Sky Culture at Blackrock Castle Observatory.

Culture Night at MTU Blackrock Castle Observatory will combine an art workshop, a hands on demonstration of night sky culture, and a guided tour of a 16th century castle.
Visitors will be invited to tour Blackrock Castle and to learn how science and astronomy are important elements of Irish culture.
Visitors will be provided with the opportunity to engage in space-themed art workshops and, weather permitting, we will give guided demonstrations of the night sky with reference to the cultural significance of the sky lore of the planets and constellations.
