MIST is a Westport-based Irish-Ukrainian music ensemble bringing together musicians from both cultures through a shared programme of traditional, folk and contemporary music. For Culture Night, the group will present a free live performance celebrating cultural connection, migration, belonging and the way music can create a bridge between communities.

The programme will move between Ukrainian and Irish musical traditions, combining voices and instruments including guitar, violin, saxophone , drums and shruti box. Rather than presenting the two traditions separately, MIST brings them into conversation, highlighting common themes of home, memory, landscape, resilience and community.

The event reflects Culture Night’s spirit of “One Night for All” by creating an informal, welcoming space where local Irish residents, Ukrainians living in Mayo and audiences of all backgrounds can experience both familiar and new music together. No prior knowledge of either musical tradition is required, and admission is free.
