Description:
MAZURKA are a band playing French swing jazz, the music of Stephane Grappelli and Django Reinhardt as well as tango and classical music, featuring the talents of violinist Sébastien Petiet, guitarist Seán Whelan with Stéphan Petiet on double bass.
Violinist Sébastien Petiet was born in France but grew up in West Kerry. He studied violin in Cork School of Music and at the Conservatoire of Lyon. He has been based in Dublin since 1993 and was a violinist with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra and director of the Chamber Orchestra at NUI Maynooth.
Guitarist and Mandolin player, Seán Whelan has toured extensively with various artists including The Cáfe Orchestra. He has presented guitar teaching workshops worldwide including Japan and works as a studio musician and producer. Seán formed the bossa nova and jazz & blues band ""Blue Bossa"".
Award winning Stéphane Petiet joins on double bass.
