Maureen’s hosts an evening of readings and conversation in association with The Stinging Fly. The Stinging Fly has been publishing the very best new Irish and international writing since 1998, and is published twice a year, in May and November. Issue 45 will be out mid-November 2021.
READINGS – 6pm – 7pm* with poet Dean Browne and fiction writer Niamh Prior.
Dean was awarded the Geoffrey Dearmer Prize 2021 and was a winner of the Poetry Business Pamphlet Competition 2021. Niamh’s fiction and poetry have been published in journals including Penny Dreadful, Southword and The North, as well of course as in The Stinging Fly. Her debut novel Catchlights is forthcoming with John Murray Originals in June 2022.

CONVERSATION ON CRAFT: 7.30pm – 8.30pm**
The evening’s second event is all about craft culture. In a conversation moderated by Stinging Fly editor Danny Denton, Chef Denis Cotter and writer Danielle McLaughlin will compare notes on the tools of their respective trades, their work processes, and the lessons learned in the journey of apprenticeship in their craft.
